Introducing Automatic
Enrollment after DROP

LSERS is pleased to announce our latest time-saving employer tool--Automatic Enrollment after DROP for members who continue to work after their DROP participation ends! 

Per R.S. 11:1152(L), if the participant remains employed for a period of less than thirty calendar days after DROP participation ends, the participant shall not be re-enrolled in LSERS. 

Therefore, if an employer reports salary prior to 30 calendars days an exception will appear for that member, “No Enrollment for This Person – No Matching Employment Record”.  Upon reporting salary after the 30 calendar days, LSERS will automatically enroll the member and clear the previous month’s exception.

Salary and Contribution Form Enhancement

LSERS continues to work on providing technology that will improve services to the employer while maintaining the security of our member data. This enhancement was prompted by employer feedback and will be implemented for the 2017-18 fiscal year.  A new Salary and Contribution Reporting and Correction form will be available in LSERSWeb for the July 2017 reporting.  The new process will validate and immediately post the data to member accounts.  This enhancement will allow employers to:
  • View the uploaded file prior to submitting
  • Correct errors and exceptions prior to submitting
  • Make corrections by submitting a file
As with our current process, individual corrections can still be processed and there is no change to the data file format and upload process.
Information and procedures will introduced in July on how to use the new feature.


New Accountant Kimberly Stephens

Kimberly Stephens is replacing Cindy Terranova who retired earlier this month.  Kimberly has a Bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University where she was on the Dean’s List and President’s List for multiple semesters.  We are pleased to have her join our team!  Kimberly will be your new contact person for refunds, return-to-work, and retiree insurance.
